Wow, amazing, great method
This is a compilation of various first aid tutorials that I have watched before. I will review it regularly in my schedule to ensure that I am not clueless in times of danger. Today happens to be the day to review this document, so I thought I could share it as well. If there are any inaccuracies, professionals are welcome to correct them. Thank you very much!
1. First Aid Positions#
1. Unconscious + Breathing: Adjust the patient to the recovery position
2. Unconscious + Not Breathing: "Four Steps" of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Step 1: Call for help: If the patient has no pulse (feel for the carotid artery on either side of the neck), no eye movement, no limb movement, or no response to pain, CPR should be performed.
Step 2: Perform 30 chest compressions.
Step 3: Give 2 rescue breaths: Place one hand on the patient's forehead and press down; place the other hand under the patient's chin and lift up, aligning the corner of the mouth with the earlobe and perpendicular to the ground. Remove any dentures or foreign objects from the patient's mouth, pinch the patient's nose, cover the patient's mouth with your mouth, and blow air in quickly for about 1 second each time. Repeat steps 2 and 3 continuously.
Step 4: Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED): AED is a device that can automatically monitor heart rhythm and restore abnormal heartbeats to normal through rapid electrical shocks. Follow the voice prompts and screen instructions. If an AED is available immediately, use it first before performing CPR.
2. Situations that do not require first aid positions:#
- First aid kit: Disinfectant for wound sterilization, different sizes of medical adhesive dressings for treating minor wounds, latex gloves (to prevent contact with wound blood), sterile gauze, bandages (to cover wounds), scissors, tourniquet, eyewash, burn gel, pain relievers, list of names and expiration dates.
- Nosebleed: Sit down, lean forward, wipe the nose, pinch the nostrils and breathe through the mouth.
- Snakebite: Sucking out the venom is not effective.
- Trauma:
- Minor injury: (Wear gloves) Cleanse + disinfect + dress the wound.
- Major injury:
- Do not move the injured person if there is a fracture.
- Do not attempt to reposition exposed internal organs, just cover the wound with a dressing.
- Apply pressure to the wound if it keeps bleeding.
- Cover the person with clothes or a blanket to prevent hypothermia.
3. Situations that require first aid positions:#
- Angina ➡️ Myocardial Infarction
- Identification: In addition to chest pain, emergency doctors also consider the possibility of a heart attack when there is "strange" pain in the throat, neck, or upper abdomen. Silent heart attack: Common in female diabetes patients, it may present symptoms such as shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.
- Medication assistance: Nitroglycerin: Dilates coronary arteries and increases blood supply to the heart muscle. Usage: Sublingual administration: 0.25~0.5mg/dose, repeat the dose after 5 minutes if necessary. Aspirin can inhibit platelet aggregation and delay the formation of coronary artery thrombosis.
- Stroke: Identification: Facial drooping, weakness and drooping of one side of the body with both arms raised, slurred speech; if unconscious, place in the recovery position, do not administer medication (especially antihypertensive drugs).
- Choking: Encourage the patient to cough. If the patient is not breathing, perform back blows and abdominal thrusts. If unconscious, perform CPR.
- Minor Electric Shock/Burn: Rinse with clean, warm water. For burns, apply dressing afterwards and do not burst blisters. Diabetes: Conscious: Sit up and consume food/drink with sugar (in case of low blood sugar).
